We receive a recent update regarding Employment and Social Development Canada’s efforts to advance disability inclusion and accessibility.
The Office of Disability Issues and the Accessible Canada Directorate have merged into a single organization called the Disability Inclusion and Accessibility Directorate (DIAD). This merger brings together our shared missions, complementary expertise, and collective experience in a way that enhances federal leadership on efforts to advance disability inclusion and accessibility.
The structure of the new directorate is intended to foster a holistic and strategic approach to disability and accessibility issues, optimise policy coherence, support more effective collaborations with our stakeholders and partners, and enhance the ability to advance the interests of persons with disabilities in federal policy, program and service design.
