Job Description

Medical Records Supervisor

Plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, security, and compliance of patient records within healthcare settings.
Overseeing the maintenance and accuracy of patient records.
Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards.
Safeguarding patient confidentiality.
Providing guidance, training, and support to subordinates.
Implementing and enforcing record-keeping policies and procedures.
Developing methods and systems for efficient record management.
Extracting relevant data for reports.
Interacting with healthcare providers and department directors.
Collaborating with other professionals to ensure proper medical records maintenance.
Medical Office/Cardiac office experience: 2-3 years (REQUIRED)
Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness when entering information into the EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system
Experience using the Accuro EMR system
Experience using Velox Imaging
Working Knowledge of Medical Terminology
Accurate minimum typing speed of 45 words per minute
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint an asset
Must have strong computer skills
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to function in a busy environment and prioritize under stress with frequent interruptions
Team player with maturity in dealing with all contacts, providing a high level of customer service
Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude that will contribute to building a positive work environment
Communicate with internal staff, patients, families, and external parties with an emphasis on respect and customer service
Registering and arriving patients by verifying patient information is up to date and accurate, while making the appropriate changes in the EMR.
Accept and coordinate telephone calls, voicemails, and inquiries, processing them in an appropriate and timely manner while providing accurate information
Able to take physicians’ written and verbal orders, and process them in a timely manner, notifying the appropriate staff/patient as required.
Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness when entering information into the EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system
Handle difficult or emotional patient encounters in a professional manner, responding promptly and professionally with empathy to the patient’s needs
Manage confidential information in a sensitive and professional manner
Other assigned duties and responsibilities as needed

Education level: College

Required skills: Previous work experience in a doctors office or hospital
