Cooks

Steve’s Poke Bar (Metrotown) Inc located at 4700 Kingsway, Suite 2265 B, Burnaby BC V5H 4N2 is looking for 2 Cooks.

The cooks will perform the following duties:

• Cut, slice, chop, dice, and shred vegetables and meats.
• Ensure that meals are prepared promptly following Steve’s Poke Bar recipes.
• Ensure that our delivered food meets our restaurant standards.
• Prepare and follow a daily prep sheet to indicate the number of staff and food amounts required.
• Clean and always organize the kitchen. Follow all required checklists and cleaning schedules during each shift.
• Assure the proper care and maintenance of all the kitchen equipment; identify equipment that is not in good repair and notify the restaurant manager.
• Ensure food quality by maintaining high levels of cleanliness, organization, storage, and sanitation of food products.
•Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the restaurant.
• Other duties as required.

Compensation offered: $18.00/hr.

Education level: Secondary school

Required skills: The right candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of commercial cooking experience or completion of a college program in cooking or a related field. Also, this individual will work well in a team setting, will take pride in their work, and will be able to communicate effectively in English.
