Qualifications:
– Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is required;
– A college diploma in a field related to personnel management such as business administration, industrial relations, commerce or completion of a professional development program in personnel administration is required;
– Some experience in a clerical or administrative position related to personnel administration is an asset.
Job duties:
– Based in Vancouver, BC, handle HR managing tasks for multiple restaurants across Canada;
– Utilize temporary foreign worker program to recruit restaurant staff if necessary, working with third party representatives;
– Identify current and prospective restaurant staffing requirements;
– Select the most appropriate advertising media for each opening position;
– Prepare and post notices and advertisements for restaurant staff;
– Collect and screen applicants;
– Advise job applicants on employment requirements and terms and conditions of employment;
– Review candidate inventories;
– Contact potential applicants to arrange interviews;
– Recruit graduates of Japanese culinary schools by strategically working with reputable culinary institutes in Japan;
– Notify applicants of results of selection process and prepare job offers;
– Advise employees on staffing policies and procedures;
– Organize and administer staff consultation and grievance procedures;
– Negotiate settlements of appeals and disputes and co-ordinate termination of employment process;
– Determine eligibility to entitlements and arrange staff training;
– Provide information or services such as employee assistance, counselling and recognition programs.
