As a Cook at Naija Jollof, you will have the opportunity to exhibit your culinary expertise in the heart of Ontario’s food scene. Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and cooking a variety of authentic African dishes to the highest standards
• Ensuring food quality, taste, and presentation meets our exacting standards
• Maintaining a clean and organized work station and adhering to food safety guidelines
• Contributing to menu development by suggesting new ideas and dishes

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Cook, preferably with a specialization in African cuisine
• Proficiency in creating authentic African dishes with a deep understanding of ingredient combinations and cooking techniques
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• A positive attitude, adaptability, and a passion for creating culinary masterpieces

Education level: Completion of secondary school is usually required & Completion of a three-year apprenticeship program for cooks

Required skills: Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure the consistency and accuracy of dishes, presentation, and portion sizes.

Additional skills / Assets Experience in African Cuisine: Previous experience in cooking authentic African cuisine is highly valued and will enable you to bring the richness and authenticity of flavors to our customers' plates.
