McPhillips Tailor, 787 McPhillips St., Winnipeg, Manitoba, seeks a Supervisor, Tailor/Alterations. Permanent, Full Time Position. $25.50 per hour.

The job duties will be as follows:
• Overseeing the work of tailors and people doing alterations to ensure the work done is correct and complete
• Assisting in establishing schedules and procedures
• Training staff with respect to job duties and safety procedures
• Monitoring supplies
• Ensuring smooth operating of sewing machines and other equipment
• Designing patterns to fit needs and measurements
• Marking, cutting and sewing fabric
• Fitting, altering and repairing garments
• Preparing traditional Vietnamese garments if required

The requirements of the position are as follows:

• Completion of secondary school
• 2 to 3 years of experience
• Demonstrated ability to sew, style and fit garments
• Demonstrated ability to sew alter and repair garments
• Vietnamese speaking is an asset
• Some ability to communicate in English
