Job Description:
Klimer Platforms Inc. is midsized employer in the construction equipment industry that provides Mast Climbing Work Platforms to our clients throughout North America. Klimer prides itself on being a leader within our industry. To strengthen our position, we are seeking an individual with exceptional technical experience and talent relating specifically to Safe Use and Industry Best Practices of climbing work platforms to help Klimer’s quest to be best in class operationally.
Main responsibilities will include:
• responsible for developing and executing the business development plan;
• work closely with President to define the top business development priorities and objectives;
• work closely with President to draft the annual business development plan that reflects the right balance of medium size projects and larger scale projects;
• create the business development programs that can be easily replicated and executed across different trades and market sectors, construction, oil and gas, fabrication etc.;
• mentor senior managers in Operational Best Practices covering inspections/maintenance/ installation/dismantle, use of site-specific installation drawings and Method Statements;
• prioritize sales efforts based on short term and long-term utilization forecasts;
• establish objectives for the company and to create andor implement policies and programs;
• responsible for hiring, firing, discipline and training of senior staff and managers;
• coordinate the allocation of work and responsibilities between branches of Klimer Platforms Inc.;
• authorize and establish spending, budgeting, and financial and administrative controls;
• provide leadership, training and implement procedures to ensure safe use and industry best practices for mast climbing work platforms;
• deliver training courses for “advanced installer” and “IPAF trainer”;
• mentor senior managers in the following departments: training, maintenance/inspections, and project management;
• support sales team in the development of technical solutions to resolve client access challenges and ultimately with contracts;
• ensure compliance with Canadian national standards while improving operational effectiveness;
• provide training for the writing of safe work plans, method statements, and field level risk assessments.
Required languages: English
Education level: High school
Required skills: • at least 10 years of middle or senior managerial experience in the powered scaffold industry/mast climbing industry; • at least 10 years of experience as a trainer for mast climbing work platforms and construction hoists certified by either the Scaffold & Access Industry Association or the International Powered Access Federation.
Additional skills / Assets Skills, Knowledge, and Competency Requirements: • Extensive fundamental understanding of International Power Access Federation and International Organization of Standardization best practices for Mast Climbing Work Platforms. • Comprehensive knowledge of international regulations, industry best practices and guidelines for Mast Climbing Work Platforms. • Experience in education and instruction of others. • Advanced mechanical skills and electrical troubleshooting experience. • Confident and professional instructional skills. • High degree of professionalism and integrity.
