Dumela Coffee and Ice Cream Shop located at Suite 216, 500 2nd Avenue West, Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada, V8J 3T6 has a full-time and permanent vacancy for a Chef/Baker.

Cook duties
• Plan menu
• Prepare the food
• Ensure product meets quality standards
• Assist with inventory to estimate and order ingredients and supplies as required
• Adhere to customer complaints
• Comply to the health and safety regulations
• Weekly meeting with management to discuss food and operational costs, budget, customer service improvements

Baker duties

• Prepare baked goods according to recipes
• Plan ingredients and supplies list
• Test quality of products to ensure quality standards are upheld
• Frost and decorate cakes or other baked goods
• Prepare and bake South African bakes such as Melktert, Koeksisters, Hertzog Koekies, Beskuit, Suurdeegbrood, Malva poeding (pudding), Vetkoek, etc.

Requirements
• Senior Certificate/High School Diploma
• Diploma/Certificate in related field such as Baking, Cooking, or Chef
• Several years of related working experience required
• Shift and weekend work as required
• Excellent English written and oral communication skills
• Must be able to perform the duties listed above

Salary
• $20 per hour
• At least 40 hours of work per week
o 9 to 5 from Monday to Friday for two weeks out of the month
o 9 to 5 Tuesday to Saturday for two weeks of a month

Benefits
• Lunch will be provided up to $20 per day
• 4 Coffees (unflavoured Ice Coffee) /4 teas or 1 pop / juice per working day
