Job Description

Gateway College can proudly state that it has been training thousands of students to be a Health Care Assistant since 1986. Gateway College graduates are working as valuable members of the health-care team in private and public hospitals, long-term care, complex care, assisted living, independent living, special care, palliative care facilities as well as home support agencies. We are located in the centre of beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada providing easy access to local amenities and city transportation, such as the Skytrain and main bus routes.

• Formulating or approving internal policies and programs to maximize the college’s efficiency, productivity and performance, which includes but not limited to:
o College operating procedure
o Guidelines and standards for employee performance and personnel evaluation
o College regulations
• Creating and submitting annual budgets to the school’s board and overseeing all spending to ensure it fits within the budget
• Providing guidance and delegating responsibilities to the middle management team to ensure compliance with the college’s policies and programs
• Leading the entire college and working collaboratively with middle management team to develop strategic plan as well as setting up priories and goals for the college.
• Overseeing the school’s administrative staff and faculty
• Authorizing and organizing the establishment of major departments and associated managerial positions
• Adjusting personnel expense and hiring process according to business need.; approving hire and fire requested within the business.
• Reviewing financial reports and looking for patterns in order to develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure the overall financial success of the college.
• Representing the college in negotiations, networking events, public relations activities as well as other official functions that could promote the growth and reputation of the business

Required languages: English

Education level: College diploma in management or related fielded

Required skills: • More than 5 years related working experience • Excellent leadership skills • Keen ability to adapt to abrupt changes in funding, staffing, and policy • Time management and organizational skills • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
