Job Description

Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitorand order supplies
Inspect kitchens and food service areas
Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
Clean kitchen and work areas
Organize and manage buffets and banquets
Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards

Required languages: English

Education level: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Required skills: 2 years to less than 3 years of previous experience as cook, Cuisine specialties in South Indian, West Indian and Vegetarian dishes, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Safe Food Handling certificate, Attention to detail, Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, Standing for extended periods, Work under pressure
