Required skills: Demonstrate and practice safe operation of all blasting equipment Cleaning work areas and free of any debris Work with others and be an effective team member Set up/ Blast with sand, shot, glass, grit, dry ice, plastic bead, sodium bicarbonate, walnut, corn or high pressure water. Must have industrial paint knowledge with metals. Perform the appropriate metal or nonmetal adjustments on the blast tables ( forward, swivel, and reverse) so that pieces can be blasted according to scope of each job. Identify the condition and characteristics of pre-existing coatings by using visual inspection and destructive and non destructive testing procedures in accordance with industry standards. Experience with AMPP ( Association for Materials Protection and Performance) requirements Good Coating Knowledge. Interpret sandblasting related work orders to plan materials, tools and techniques needed for completion of work. Review all work performed to ensure compliance with all safety standards Strip and prepare various surfaces for painting. Knowledgeable of safety practices relating to ventilation of confined spaces Operates sandblasting unit safely according to the procedures established by Morin Industrial Coatings Ltd/ARC Coatings and the manufacturers of the equipment. Operates, maintains and repairs units to ensure conformance to standards and guidelines. Assist in the maintenance and repair of equipment by performing preventative maintenance to equipment to include cleaning, checking and replacing worn or broken components and as needed, assist in troubleshooting malfunction. Plans and coordinates work with customers and coworkers to assure that work is carried out according to established specification Qualify to specification SSPC(Society for Protective Coatings) or equivalent. Follow Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts
